I had been seeing Dr. Peterson about my arthritic hip, and recently had a hip replacement. Dr. Peterson listens well, is attentive, gave me great advice, and did a wonderful job on my hip. I was not over or under-medicated and felt very good after the surgery. The healing went well and everything happened as Dr. Peterson explained. I feel very lucky to have found him and Orthopedic Surgeons of Seattle.

Dr. Peterson performed both of my hip replacements. From the initial diagnosis, he did a great job laying out the options. Since I’m still in my 50’s it was an easy decision to move forward once the discomfort got too great. When I decided to have surgery, I brought SO into appointment so that we could get all of our questions answered. The surgery and recovery went well, with a planned hospital stay both times. I felt so well looked after by Dr. Peterson, the staff at the clinic, and everyone at the Swedish surgical center. I would highly recommend Dr. Peterson.

Dr. Peterson is very knowledgable, compassionate, and down to earth. He's the type of person you'd like to have as your BFF. I cannot speak highly enough about him. I tore my meniscus a few years ago, and he was my surgeon. He thoroughly explained the procedure, and follow up care, and it couldn't have gone more smoothly. Recently I started to have new knee pain. He is working with me, and helping me to understand all of my options. I am so thankful to have him as my doctor.

I highly recommend Dr. Peterson. I had knee arthroscopy where I could barely walk due to pain. I am 2 weeks out and am nearly 100% already! Dr. Peterson has outstanding bedside manner to complement his surgical skills. He went through all the options and made his recommendation. I agreed with his choice, and am thankful for such an excellent result.

Dr Peterson was excellent in every way..he provided helpful information over telemedicine about a hip replacement and then met with me in person after an X-ray. He was reassuring in the hospital prior to surgery and met with me later that same day to check in. I had very little discomfort as I healed and feel very grateful for being able to get back to an active life very quickly.

Total hip replacement, he described the procedure in detail, executed the surgery perfectly and the follow up was caring.

Dr. Peterson is a surgeon that actually listens to his patients. He just doesn't rely on xrays and MRI results only but he listens to the patient describe their quality of life due to their condition. I had partial knee replacement done at their surgical center in Walingford. Was impressed with the surgical team. They took very good care of me and my husband was extremely impressed with their surgical unit. My recovery is going well and I'm already walking with slight use of a cane 2 weeks post op. I saw 4 different surgeons before I went for a second opinion with Dr. Peterson. I was so impressed by Dr. Peterson, I chose him to do my surgery over the other surgeons.

Dr. Peterson was excellent for my spouse's total knee replacement in 2015, but also for my knee replacement in June 2019. He listens to questions and concerns giving great advice and choices. He is non-judgmental. He was an easy choice for my knee workup and open to alternatives before my knee replacement surgery. He does surgery Swedish-Ballard campus which had great nursing care and follow through. My postop course recovery been steady and successful. I recommend Dr. Peterson and his team.

Hi Doc, It was a pleasure to have such a "good visit" with a doctor. You were present, friendly, precise and explained my situation to me patiently. I experienced my 1st sports injury in college and throughout my life have had to have an orthopedic specialist on speed dial. Dr Peterson is my absolute favorite. Surgeons, fairly or unfairly, are often characterized as lacking in the people skills department all the while wielding remarkable surgical acumen. I think Dr Peterson is exceptional. He has wonderful listening skills, is very empathetic, has a wonderful easy demeanor and I feel is very thoughtful when discussing a treatment plan. He really considers a patients' quality of life in the long view. If I were to ever need to go under the knife yet again, he would be my surgeon of choice, no question! Dr Peterson is the real deal!

I left the surgeon center the same day, I walked a few times every day by using a walker and changed to a cane two weeks after. The pre-operation and after surgery instructions were very clear. He is Very thorough, informative, kind and professional

Dr Peterson has performed two hip replacements for me this past year. He is an exceptional surgeon who I would recommend to anyone. He combines the skill of a gifted surgeon with warmth, compassion and humor. I felt very safe doing the first hip replacement when elective surgeries had just opened up last summer during the pandemic. I was so pleased with my quick recovery that I decided not to put off doing my other hip and had it done this spring. I could not be more positive about Dr. Peterson.

Had a full left knee replacement at the end of October 2020. The work done by Doctor Peterson was excellent. Prior to the operation the Doctor walked me through what to expect, the length of recovery, and the need for Physical Therapy. All went as he indicated without any of the possible negative outcomes (which he also detailed including the percentage likelihood of those occurring). After 12 weeks I received a full release with exercises to continue at home and advisement of continued icing of the knee until swelling stopped (possibly 6-9 additional months). As my leg strengthens with exercise it is becoming abundantly clear that arthritic pain has gone and the return to normal activities I enjoyed prior to the arthritic pain is well within reach.

Dr. Peterson and the entire staff at OSS were very professional and helpful in my surgery. I would recommend them to anyone needing orthopedic services.

I am very grateful to Dr Peterson for the excellent care he and his team provided for my total right knee replacement. He is very patient - a great listener and thoroughly answers questions. He explained everything that was going to happen in the surgery, putting me at ease for the operation. He and his team are wonderful - competent, caring, and professional.. I was set up with a Novocain drip in the leg for 5 days afterwards, which relieved a lot of potential pain, virtually no use of use of narcotics, and gave me a great head start on recovery. I highly recommend him for the best surgical skills; my new knee is amazing and has already changed my life only 5 weeks after surgery.

Dr. Peterson is a great medical professional but also a straight forward type of guy that considers the patient's condition , goal , and condition. Dr Peterson did a wonderful knee replacement for me. He was sure to visit me before procedure just to make sure i was comfortable and ready to proceed. his staff before and after the procedure were excellent as well. He is highly experienced and I am looking forward to getting my other knee done at the end of this year. The rt knee that was done by Dr Peterson feels great (like new). I am able to walk my dog and play golf . I feel no discomfort and the incision has healed very nicely . I would say Dr Peterson has perfected his talent in knee joint replacement. Dr Peterson is and excellent doctor, listens to you , cares about what your saying and explains your options in detail and give you no BS answers to come up with a plan. His support staff if great, they are friendly and courteous during my pre-op, after surgery and follow up appts. My knee has been doing great and all pain is gone. I am just celebrating my one year anniversary for the hip replacement Dr.Peterson did and I couldn't be more pleased! He was a clear communicator throughout the process from pre-surgery to my one year follow up appointment. Surgery went as explained and expected and he clearly is a master surgeon. I couldn't' praise him, the staff and the surgical team more! I will continue to refer others to him. All surgeons do surgery but are not all alike. We are so fortunate to have him as our surgeon! I couldn't agree more with the other comments and ratings by others.

Dr Peterson replaced both of my hips over a span two months. He took the time to explain options and why he recommended replacement. My recovery has been awesome, I needed no pain pills from two days after the second operation. I am now just 6 weeks in from the second hip replacement and back to walking my dogs and getting back to the gym. I have no hesitation in highly recommending him.

He recommended a variety of other avenues first and did not rush to or push surgery. He has replaced both my knees in the past two years and I could not be happier. After a couple of years of brutal knee pain, Dr. Peterson helped me navigate all the options prior to total knee replacement. Cortisone shots did relieve and help to buy me some time until I could take the necessary time off post-surgery. So pleased with the results at even 7 weeks! It will get even better going forward. I went on an easy hike last weekend but a hike no less! So impressed and so appreciate this new ACTIVE life I have regained!!!

I injured my knee in 2018, and Dr. Peterson saw me back to a full recovery. He diagnosed my injury, preformed surgery, and saw me for follow ups. I recovered from rapidly and completely. What I really appreciated was that he helped me make the decisions that were best for my life and my needs. He was knowledgeable, had clear communication, and preformed well in the OR.

Have been with Dr. Peterson since I came to Seattle in 1979 & can very Highly Recommend him. He is extremely knowledgeable, knows what he is doing, explains to you in words that you understand & encourages you to ask questions. Most honest & sincere in all he does. Dr. Peterson is a wonderful and very professional surgeon. His surgical technique is excellent, He has always addressed my concerns, and has provided me with the information I have needed. Dr. Peterson replaced my right knee on Feb. 7, 2022. The surgery went very well, I left the Surgeon Center the same day. the incision is not large, not very painful after surgery, and the recovery was very fast. I have been unable to ride a bicycle for more than 5 years before the surgery, and now I can ride a bicycle again. I highly recommend him and his great team. Thanks so much, Dr. Peterson!!!

In approximately 2007 I tore my rotator cuff (as I am a highly active athlete). I had one consultation with Dr. Peterson and we both agreed that surgery was definitely required. Everything went without a hitch.

I had ankle/foot surgery there on Monday. While I am not one for "icky" medical stuff, etc., this was a truly great experience! I just had my meniscus repaired today and every step of the way, I was treated like I was a personal friend. Dr. Franklin and his team did a great job of explaining every single thing to me. They did a great job of explaining my aftercare and what to expect. I'm no stranger to surgery so I think I have a base of experience to say that this has been the most pain-free experience of any of them. There were absolutely no surprises and everyone was very efficient. Dr. Franklin's bedside manner is outstanding and I truly appreciate all that he has done for me in what were personally trying times.

I was referred to Dr. Peterson by a co-worker who was a patient and friend of his father's (who was also an orthopedist). My doctor and PT had already done an MRI and located a loose (tiny) piece of bone floating in my knee and a torn meniscus. Surgery was scheduled quickly, I was informed of what to expect, and all my questions were answered. Dr. Peterson cared about my physical and emotional comfort and the surgery was quick and easy. He is trustworthy and doesn't waste his patients' time. ... I like that.

I recently tore my meniscus and lucked into seeing Dr. Peterson. He was very personable, good at listening to my concerns, and he was thorough with his explanation as to what he suspected might be going on with my knee. He showed me a model of a knee and described what was going on with my own knee. A week later, he reviewed my MRI report and it was conclusive that I did in fact tear my meniscus. 2 days later, he operated. 2 weeks later and I am feeling awesome. Thank you Dr. Peterson!
