Charlie Peterson, M.D. Board-Certified Orthopedic Surgeon Joint Replacement, Sports Medicine, Fractures and Trauma

“I hope my patients feel I not only provide medical and technical expertise, but also take the time to listen, answer questions, and have the thoughtfulness to understand how an injury or condition really affects their lives.”

Dr. Peterson is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon who completed his medical degree from the University of Washington School of Medicine, where he graduated magna cum laude and was involved in several research projects in the orthopedic and internal medicine fields. While there, he was inducted into Alpha Omega Alpha, a prestigious medical school honor society. Dr. Peterson went on to complete orthopedic residency training at the Mayo Clinic, widely regarded as one of the premier orthopedic institutions in the world. It was there that he had extensive, fellowship-level exposure to complex joint replacement and reconstruction of the knee and hip.

Dr. Peterson subsequently completed a specialty fellowship in sports medicine and shoulder surgery at The Hospital for Special Surgery in New York City. During this time, he was a team physician for the New York Mets, New York Giants, the Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP), and St. John’s University. This gave him extensive experience treating all types of injuries and athletes, from professionals to weekend warriors.

Dr. Peterson’s practice has always been a hybrid of expert and experienced care in knee and hip replacement along with arthroscopy/sports medicine and shoulder surgery.

Along with patient care, Dr. Peterson enjoys teaching the next generation of physicians and surgeons. He has served in the past as a Clinical Instructor in Anatomy at the University of Washington School of Medicine and is currently a Clinical Instructor in Orthopedics for the Washington State University School of Medicine.

Dr. Peterson resides in his native Seattle with his wife. They enjoy the hiking, kayaking, snowshoeing, and all that the Pacific Northwest has to offer. If not practicing orthopedic medicine, one would likely find Dr. Peterson traveling around Seattle or the world with his camera, capturing images for his professional photographic website: www.cpetersonphoto.com
